28 Sep Rochester Hills Becomes 1st Healthy Pet Community in the Country

The City of Rochester Hills is the first of hundreds of communities that have joined the new Healthy Pet Community program.

Recently, cities across the country unanimously approved a resolution on Creating Healthy Pet Communities through the United States Conference of Mayors. The resolution was authored by Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan K. Barnett, who strongly urged mayors across the U.S. to prioritize pet safety and proper care.

This resolution outlines 14 action items that can positively impact the treatment of a community’s pets, including encouraging public education on animal issues, promoting the adoption of shelter animals, and providing information regarding useful services/resources for animals on the city website.
